Terms and Conditions

  1. Participation in a ghost walk involves an element of personal risk and potential exposure to unexpected situations which some people may find particularly frightening and shocking. Participants must be fully capable of assuming the risks involved and should not be of a nervous disposition or suffering from a medical or psychological condition which may impact on their safe participation at the event or place them or others at risk. Any participant who is in doubt as to their suitability to join a ghost walk event should seek medical advice.
  2. There is no age limit for the ghost walks, it is at parents' discretion. Walks are not recommended for children under ten years of age. Children under the age of sixteen (16) shall be accompanied by an adult at all times. Full responsibility for children remains with the accompanying adult, including general behavioural control so as not to disturb the others.
  3. Participants must conduct themselves in a responsible and appropriate manner and treat others with courtesy. We reserve the right to refuse entry or eject from an event without refund any participant deemed to be behaving in an unsuitable manner.
  4. The consumption of alcohol, tobacco and non-prescription drugs is strictly prohibited at all events with the exception of alcohol served on licensed premises. We reserve the right to refuse without refund any participant believed to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  5. Participants are advised to dress accordingly for each event and to wear warm, comfortable clothing and practical shoes or trainers. Waterproof clothing is strongly recommended.
  6. Where permitted participants are welcome to use their own camera equipment to take still photographs for private purposes only. No video or audio recordings are permitted without express permission from Lakeland Hauntings.The content and scripts used at events are copyrighted to Lakeland Hauntings and may not be used for any form of publication including books, magazines, newspapers, DVDs, VHS, internet or television broadcast.
  7. Participants requiring disabled access are advised to telephone Lakeland Hauntings on 07949 909365.
  8. Participants are responsible for the safety and security of their own property. We do not accept liability for any loss, theft or damage to personal property.
  9. In the unfortunate event of an accident we do not accept any responsibility or liability for the death or personal injury of any participant at an event unless caused by the negligence of Lakeland Hauntings’ employees.
  10. CANCELLATIONS, REFUNDS and EXCHANGES. Should you wish to change the date of your Lakeland Hauntings event we would be happy to exchange your ticket (subject to availability) providing that you give us reasonable notice of at least 48 hours.  For cancellations we will issue a full ticket refund on request if notified of the cancellation with reasonable notice of at least 48 hours.  We regret that no refund can be made for cancellations received with less than 48 hours’ notice. For the avoidance of doubt, no shows are treated as last-minute cancellations and are non-refundable. By booking on to the tour you are agreeing to be bound by our cancellation policy.
  11. Lakeland Hauntings reserves the right to cancel or postpone an event due to unforeseen circumstances. In such cases we will endeavour to contact participants as soon as possible and provide either a full refund or a credit of the booking fee.
  12. If an event is cancelled by Lakeland Hauntings for any reason then Lakeland Hauntings do not accept any responsibility or liability for other costs incurred including travel or accommodation.
  13. The information provided by participants when booking an event will remain confidential and will not be passed on to a third party except as required by law.
  14. Lakeland Hauntings reserve the right to amend the above terms and conditions at any time.
  15. The minimum number of people required to book a private event just for your group is 10. If the numbers drop below 10 then full payment for the minimum of 10 is still payable.
  16. By reading these terms and conditions and booking one of our events the customer agrees to all the terms and conditions.
  17. As a general rule, bookings will be accepted at face value at the time of booking. However, at our discretion, proof of any concession entitlement claimed may be requested at any time during fulfilment of the booking. Such proof shall include any legal document that contains a recognisable photograph and date of birth. Failure to produce such evidence upon request may result in the concession being withdrawn and payment being requested amounting to the difference between what has already been paid and the full published price.
  18. As in any product and service of this type, you are entirely responsible at all times for your own safety and for that of others. Going off any unmarked pathways, through closed gates, barriers or otherwise is done so entirely at your own risk and no responsibility can, or shall, be taken in such an instance. If in doubt, please ask.
  19. Dogs, including registered and documented assistance dogs, are permitted on the walks. Full responsibility for such an animal remains with the accompanying person, including feeding, hygiene and general control so as not to disturb others. If the presence of a dog is detrimentally affecting the enjoyment of others on the walk then you may be asked to leave.
  20. Any disputes or complaints must be brought to our attention in writing no longer than twenty-one (21) days from the origin such. We shall then be granted an additional sixty (60)days to investigate and resolve such a dispute or complaint without involving third parties or outside solicitors, litigation or counsel. In the event of a complaint or dispute not being satisfactorily resolved, both parties irrevocably agree that the dispute will be settled and determined by final and binding arbitration pursuant to the United Kingdom and that such arbitration will be conducted in accordance with the Rules and Procedures in current effect under English law.
